Steps to Become a Managing Broker in Washington

Meet the experience requirement
At least 3 years of full-time experience as an active broker within the prior 5 years to become a Managing Broker.

Complete broker pre-license education
Complete the required 90 hours of managing broker pre-license education from an approved school.

Pass the broker licensing exam
Pass the Washington managing broker licensing exam, administered by PSI.

Submit your broker application
Apply through the DOL, pay the required fees, and complete any background or fingerprinting steps. Maintain broker-level continuing education going forward.
