How to Get Licensed in Washington

Complete 90 hours of WA-approved pre-license education (60-hour Real Estate Fundamentals plus 30-hour Real Estate Practices).

Pass the Washington broker licensing exam administered by PSI.

After passing, submit fingerprints for the background check through the DOL-authorized vendor.

Submit your broker license application to the WA Department of Licensing with the license and research fees.

Activate under a Washington firm/managing broker.

After You Pass: Keeping Your License
First renewal, post-licensing, and continuing education
New Washington brokers must complete 90 hours of approved education during their first license renewal period (including the 30-hour Advanced Practices and 30-hour Real Estate Law courses). The license renews every 2 years.
