Steps to Become a Broker in Ohio

Meet the experience requirement
At least 2 years of experience as a licensed salesperson with the required transaction volume within the prior 5 years.

Complete broker pre-license education
Complete the required 120 hours of broker pre-license education from an approved school.

Pass the broker licensing exam
Pass the Ohio broker licensing exam, administered by PSI.

Submit your broker application
Apply through the ODRE, pay the required fees, and complete any background or fingerprinting steps. Maintain broker-level continuing education going forward.
