How to Get Licensed in Ohio

  1. 1

    Complete the required Ohio salesperson pre-license education (100 hours for courses started on/after April 9, 2025 under HB 238; 120 hours previously) at an approved provider.

    Find a sponsoring Ohio broker.

  3. 3

    Submit the Salesperson Examination Application with the $81 fee to the Ohio Division of Real Estate.

  4. 4

    Complete WebCheck fingerprinting and the background check.

  5. 5

    Pass the Ohio salesperson licensing exam administered by PSI.

  6. 6

    Activate your license under your sponsoring broker.

New Ohio salespersons must complete 20 hours of post-license education within the first 12 months of licensure. Thereafter, 30 hours of continuing education are required every 3 years.
