Steps to Become a Broker in Massachusetts

Meet the experience requirement
At least 3 years of active experience as an affiliated salesperson (with the minimum weekly hours the Board requires) before applying for a broker license.

Complete broker pre-license education
Complete the required 40 hours of broker pre-license education from an approved school.

Pass the broker licensing exam
Pass the Massachusetts broker licensing exam, administered by PSI.

Submit your broker application
Apply through the BRREBS, pay the required fees, and complete any background or fingerprinting steps. Maintain broker-level continuing education going forward.
