Steps to Become a Broker in Florida

Meet the experience requirement
At least 24 months of active experience as a sales associate within the preceding 5 years.

Complete broker pre-license education
Complete the required 72 hours of broker pre-license education from an approved school.

Pass the broker licensing exam
Pass the Florida broker licensing exam, administered by Pearson VUE.

Submit your broker application
Apply through the DBPR, pay the required fees, and complete any background or fingerprinting steps. Maintain broker-level continuing education going forward.
