Complete the 77-hour NY Department of State-approved salesperson qualifying course and pass the school-administered final exam.

Find a sponsoring New York real estate broker.

Pass the New York salesperson state exam (75 questions, 70% to pass), administered by the Department of State.

Complete fingerprinting through the Department of State-approved vendor.
- 5
Submit your salesperson application through eAccessNY with the $65 application fee.

Receive your license linked to your sponsoring broker.

After You Pass: Keeping Your License
First renewal, post-licensing, and continuing education
New York salesperson licenses renew every 2 years with 22.5 hours of approved continuing education, including required ethics, fair housing, agency, and other mandated topics. New York does not require a separate post-license course.
