Steps to Become a Managing Broker in Illinois

Meet the experience requirement
At least 2 of the prior 3 years of active licensure as a Broker to qualify as a Managing Broker.

Complete broker pre-license education
Complete the required 45 hours of managing broker pre-license education from an approved school.

Pass the broker licensing exam
Pass the Illinois managing broker licensing exam, administered by PSI.

Submit your broker application
Apply through the IDFPR, pay the required fees, and complete any background or fingerprinting steps. Maintain broker-level continuing education going forward.
